To consider and comment on any suggestions for amendments to the standards
As appropriate, to review and approve/ reject applications from potential assessors
The business of the Advisory Board will be conducted primarily through
virtual meetings, although advantage will be taken of international
conferences on mentoring to bring a quorum of members together. A quorum will be five members.

Prospective assessors must:
- be a qualified mentoring trainer, who has attended a recognised training programme
- has an appropriate level of experience in the design and implementation ofmentoring schemes of different types
- have committed to the EMCC's Code of Conduct
- have designed and implemented at least four successful mentoring schemes in the past 36 months
- THEN be proposed by a member of the Advisory Board
- have attended a formal, two day assessor training programme, run by CA.
- complete and submit a paper of between 1500 and 3,000 words on their experience of mentoring scheme design and implementation. The paper should be in English and demonstrate
- good understanding of mentoring theory
- good understanding of the practical issues organisations face in implementing mentoring schemes
- a clear understanding of the role and purpose of the Standards

Papers will be marked by two or more members of the Advisory Board and will be marked as:
- Distinction -- demonstrates high expertise in the subject
- Pass -- demonstrates good experience, knowledge and understanding
- Fail -- does not demonstrate good experience, knowledge and understanding
Members of the Advisory Board may be exempted from the assessor accreditation procedures, by virtue of their previous demonstrated
competence. Exemptions may also be granted to Clutterbuck Associates' franchisees, who undertake regional pilots
